Read the Political Overview here and the Economic Overview here of CEDA's 1991 Economic and Political Overview, Dr Dean Jaensch examined the political instability that besieged the country in the late 1980s and early 1990s including leadership instability.
Dr Jaensch discussed electoral trends that continue to echo today, such as the rise in support to minor parties, a growing mood of disillusionment in the electorate for major parties and concerns around the governability of the nation.
