Recovery through strong border management

Like every nation in the world, Australia’s economy has taken a battering in 2020 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. From an Australian Border Force (ABF) operational perspective, as the guardians of Australia’s international gateways, COVID-19’s biggest impacts have been on international traveller and student numbers. Conversely, e-commerce trade volumes have increased, presenting a different set of challenges for the ABF and its responsibilities to protect supply chain integrity and manage border threats.
