CEDA has appointed well-known former US Consul General, Robin McClellan, as its new State Director in Western Australia.

Ms McClellan returns to Perth after a distinguished 20-career with the US State Department including assignments in Mexico, New Guinea, Indonesia, Malaysia and most recently New Delhi, India.

"I am delighted to welcome Robin to CEDA and confident she will continue to build CEDA's reputation for quality independent discussion and debate on major business and policy issues," he said.

Ms McClellan will develop CEDA's WA membership base, run CEDA's program of public policy and business forums and other events in WA, and be part of CEDA's national leadership team.

Ms McClellan has a Degree in Economics from the University of Kansas, a Master's Degree in Economic History from the University of Exeter and an MBA from Duke University.

She starts her new role in mid October 2009.
