Empowering First Nations people through education
Education is an integral ingredient in employment and financial security, physical and mental wellbeing, and individual and community resilience. In 2018, the Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority stated “the attendance rate for Indigenous Australian students was 82 per cent, compared with 93 percent for non-Indigenous Australian students”.
So how do we keep our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander kids in school and help them to thrive? How do we help schools support these children and provide culturally aware and inclusive experiences?
