With Victoria currently having one of the country's most ambitious transition plans with targets of 95% renewable energy by 2035 and net zero emissions by 2045, government and industry leaders gathered to discuss the challenges and priorities of the energy transition. The panel discussed upcoming investment opportunities and the importance of clear collaboration between the community, government and industry as being imperative to the success of Victoria's decarbonisation goals.
Minister for Energy and Resources and Minister for the State Electricity Commission, the Hon. Lily D’Ambrosio, also told the CEDA audience that the government would be improving planning approval turnaround times, saving projects between 6 to 36 months.
