Progress 2050: A long-term vision for all Australians

CEDA recently launched the Progress 2050 platform, a pathway to prosperity, and shared plan for how we can realise our economic and societal potential, in a way that reflects the unique, innovative and resourceful nation that we are.

The event kicked off with a discussion between CEDA Chief Executive, Melinda Cilento and Bridget Archer MP Federal Member for Bass on the future of political leadership. A panel of inspiring young leaders then spoke about the importance of having young voices heard in making meaningful change. Finally, audiences heard from AIME and IMAGI-NATION CEO and Founder, Jack Manning Bancroft on building a relational economy and the importance of considering nature, joy and relationships in building a strong society and economy.

Progress 2050 is centered around two mutually reliant and reinforcing pillars that form a strong foundation for our future economy and society: A Strong Economy + A Strong Social Compact. These pillars are supported by six strategic Focus Areas and Goals that are the result of extensive consultation and research.

At the launch event, we heard from:
- Jack Manning Bancroft CEO and Founder of AIME and IMAGI-NATION, Author of Hoodie Economics
- Gavin Choong 2024 Australian Youth Representative to the UN, Associate, County Court of Victoria
- Bridget Archer MP Federal Member for Bass
- Hayley McQuire Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, National Indigenous Youth Education Coalition (NIYEC)
- Ahelee Rahman Program Manager (IPGHCC), University of Melbourne, Multicultural Youth Network Facilitator, Victorian Multicultural Commission
