CEDA's annual Economic and Policy Outlook brought together various stakeholders from the government, the business community, and academia to explore the key economic and policy trends shaping key conversations and decisions in 2024.
With thematic sessions diving into productivity and the workforce, Australia's place in the global economy, the domestic economy, and the outlook for 2024 and beyond, the event was dominated by productive discussions on what can be expected in the year ahead. With speakers from leading organisations including the Productivity Commission, Stanford University, Westpac, EY, Urbis, and Goldman Sachs, as well as federal independent members, key insights on geopolitics, the economy, social media, and other key trends were discussed.
The key takeaways, however, honed in on Australia's productivity challenges and the future of remote work. With critical labour shortages growing, there was a broad consensus that working towards sustainable solutions will require the active participation of the community.
