CEDA is saddened to learn of the passing of distinguished demographer and academic Professor Graeme Hugo AO.
Professor Hugo’s involvement with CEDA included the joint editorship of CEDA’s major 2012 report on population, A Greater Australia: Populations, policies and governance.
CEDA Chief Executive Professor Stephen Martin said Professor Hugo was a leader in his field and his contribution to CEDA was outstanding.
“Professor Hugo was a pleasure to work with and his leadership and knowledge on population research was of the highest order. ”
Professor Hugo was Professor of Geography and Director of the Australian Population and Migration Research Centre at Adelaide University and an ARC Australian Research Fellow.
Australia is at the bottom of OECD countries in terms of productivity growth, University of Melbourne Professorial Research Fellow, Professor Ross Garnaut AO has told CEDA’s State of the Nation conference in Canberra.
