The CEDA WA welcome back will provide a keynote address by EY Chief Economist, Peter Crone, who will share his thoughts on the economic outlook for Australia and the region.

Peter will discuss emerging themes likely to dominate the economy and the information presented will help plan and map out the year ahead.

CEDA WA State Director, Paula Rogers, will present an overview of CEDA's 2018 WA and national program, including CEDA's major research projects for 2018 and the program for the Public and Trustee event series. Paula will also highlight opportunities available through the 2018 Copland Leadership Program.

Meet the speaker

Peter Crone
Chief Economist, EY

Peter Crone has more than 25 years of experience advising on economics, public policy and strategy at the highest levels of government and business in Australia. He recently joined EY’s ‘Economics, Regulation and Policy’ practice in the role of Chief Economist for its Oceania business. 

Peter brings deep experience in assessing and explaining economic and regulatory trends at play across markets and industries. His perspectives help support EY teams to deliver exceptional client service and address the many complex issues faced by government and corporate clients in Oceania.

Peter previously worked in chief economist roles at both the Coles Group and the Business Council of Australia. He was senior economic adviser to Prime Minister John Howard and to Premier Jeff Kennett, was Executive Officer of the National Commission of Audit and has experience as a commercial adviser to a number of Australian superannuation funds on their infrastructure investments
