Maureen Thurston
Global Director, Design to Innovate, Aurecon

An industrial designer, educator, entrepreneur, lecturer, author and consultant, Ms Thurston has been deploying ‘design thinking’ as a catalyst for change for over 30 years. Playing at the intersection between strategy, customer engagement, innovation, and transformation, she has a track record of helping organisations become future ready, by design. After her role with Deloitte Australia to embed design thinking into the financial advisory firm, she joined Aurecon in 2015 as Global Director, Design to Innovate, with a mandate to liberate creativity, cultivate change and fuel top-line growth. In 2017, Aurecon, an engineering and infrastructure advisory company, emerged as a top innovator, ranking #5 in Australian Financial Review’s Most Innovative Companies list.
