Vocational education is a crucial component of Australia’s education system and will play an important role in securing Australia’s future skills needs. CEDA’s latest report VET: securing skills for growth, examines whether the system and recent reforms are delivering the right outcomes for Australia’s workforce, with a view to improving accessibility, transparency, quality and efficiency.

At this lunch, Tasmanian Deputy Premier, the Hon Jeremy Rockliff  MP, will discuss:

  • The essential role of vocational education in Australia’s economic future;
  •  The challenges and opportunities facing TAFEs and private providers in the current environment;
  •  The role of government and implications for funding and delivery; and
  •  Ways in which the VET system can be improved in order to meet the skills Australia will require for growth
