CEDA welcomes Bedford’s Chief Executive, Maggie Dowling as she outlines the many benefits and challenges of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Bedford has been actively involved in NDIS planning and is a key player in its implementation here in SA.

Event overview

The NDIS is the new way of providing support for people with disability, their families and carers in Australia.

The NDIS will provide about 460,000 Australians under the age of 65 with a permanent and significant disability with the reasonable and necessary supports they need to live an ordinary life.

This briefing is by invitation only to CEDA Trustees. Trustees are senior leaders nominated by CEDA member organisations. At CEDA boardroom briefings Trustees hear from an informed, expert guest speaker in a private, small group setting. Invitations to boardroom briefings are a valued benefit of CEDA membership. Meet the speaker

Maggie Dowling
Chief Executive Officer, Bedford

Maggie is the Chief Executive Officer of Bedford Phoenix Inc and has held that role since February 2018. Prior to this Maggie was the City of Playford’s General Manager City Services and has held senior leadership roles within the private sector, government and the not-for-profit sector; including executive roles with ABB Grain Ltd., CRC CARE and the Department of Primary Industries and Regions SA (PIRSA).

Maggie holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Adelaide and a Diploma in Company Directorship, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Maggie’s prior board appointments include The Women’s Housing Association, Australian Centre Plant Functional Genomics, the National Grower Register, NuGrain and GrainTrust. She has also contributed at the Federal level as a member of the National Steering Committee for Implementation of Intellectual Property Royalty Systems in Agriculture and the National Industry Advisory Committee for Molecular Plant Breeding. Maggie is an active volunteer including providing support to a young man with a disability, and his family, through Interchange SA for over a decade.
