The Hon. Brad Hazzard MP, NSW Minister for Health and Medical Research

Event overview

As NSW population continues to grow, so too does the task of delivering world-class healthcare and meeting people’s growing expectations about their own health.

Demonstrating the importance of the health portfolio, CEDA’s NSW-specific findings from the 2018 Community Pulse survey found that basic health services, chronic disease services and access to public hospitals were issues of greatest importance.

The CEDA NSW annual state health outlook will examine:

  • The NSW hospital building boom with $8 billion being invested over the next four years in new facilities, upgrades, and developments;
  • Reshaping the delivery of healthcare and maximising health expenditure through emerging technologies;
  • The importance of medical research and ensuring translation of innovative policy and practice into the health system; and
  • Treating chronic disease, addressing health inequities and prioritising services for those with the greatest need within our community.
