Event overview

The nature of work is evolving, and with it, so too must Australia’s world class higher education system. Thirty-five per cent of the skills necessary to thrive in a job today will be different five years from now and adolescents can expect to experience several career changes over the course of their lives. This has presents challenges and opportunities for Australia’s higher education system.

Today’s universities must now confront transformational change in terms of their role in society, adept new business models, and reassess the value delivered to the communities they serve through the graduates they produce for the modern workforce.

CEDA’s 2017 Vice Chancellor’s panel will ask 'are universities preparing graduates for the future of work?'

This event will further examine:

  • Strategic directions and policy priorities for the University sector;
  • Financial viability of tertiary education institutions and the sector’s broader contribution to the economy; and
  • The sector’s interaction and collaboration with business and industry.
