Event overview

For more than 30 years, CEDA's Economic and Political Overview (EPO) forums and report have been important resources for businesses to inform and support their strategic planning for the year ahead.

The 2017 Economic and Political Overview research will provide and economic and political forecast for 2017, and consider the theme Delivering economic reform and will serve as a follow up to CEDA's major research reports of 2016, Deficit to balance: budget repair options and Australia's economic future: agenda for growth.

To coincide with the launch of this document, CEDA will host a Sydney release event focusing on a range of domestic and international issues that will shape the political and economic outlook in 2017.

Featuring leaders from across Government and business, this event will explore:

  • Domestic and international economic outlooks shaping business decisions in 2017 and underpinning economic prosperity;
  • Business investment in an age of economic uncertainty and a low-growth world;
  • Priorities for the Turnbull Government and key reform areas in the coming year; and
  • Geo-political alignment following BREXIT and the 2016 US Political election and implications for Australia's economic, trade and security arrangements.
