The China-Australia Free Trade Agreement (ChAFTA) is a landmark bilateral trade deal said to unlock significant opportunities for Australia, laying the foundation for the next phase of Australia’s economic relationship with China.

To coincide with CEDA’s latest Research Report, Global networks: transforming how Australia does business, CEDA welcomes Peter Varghese AO, Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs to outline how Australian businesses will be empowered through the ChAFTA to capitalise on enhanced export opportunities for Australian goods and services.

CEDA’s latest research will examine the characteristics of successful, internationally connected organisations; Australia’s role in the Asia-Pacific region and the broader world; the infrastructure to support international connectedness, such as institutional arrangements.

  • Enabling mechanisms that forge international connectedness, such as free trade agreements;
  • Building on our competitive advantage, a case study of Australian financial services in Asia; and
  • How transformation driven by digital disruption can reduce entry barriers for both business.
