Event overview

In March 2017, the South Australian Government declared that the national energy market is failing South Australia and the nation.

In response, the South Australian Government unveiled an ambitious energy plan that seeks to generate more generating capacity, greater competition, increased public ownership of assets, more renewable energy with battery storage, more gas supplies and more job opportunities.

CEDA’s final instalment in the 2017 NSW Energy series will examine:

  • The role of gas fired power generation and the future of battery storage in South Australia’s energy future;
  • Leadership that creates energy investment opportunities in Australia’s energy sector, from Australia and abroad; and
  • Ministerial powers to direct the functioning of the market to provide energy security.
