CEDA is Australia's leading independent economic development think-tank. Our research identifies and offers solutions for issues that influence the nation’s long-term economic, social and environmental development. CEDA publishes its research regularly in reports and on the Web.
What guides CEDA's research objectives?
- Our research agenda centres on five themes, developed after consultation with our members on the major issues facing Australia over the next decade. These themes are:
- Foundations for Economic Growth - this theme includes trade and international relations, infrastructure, energy, technology and innovation, tax, regulation and federal-state relations
- Building Human Capital - includes education and learning, ageing, health and healthcare, workforce participation and indigenous affairs
- Sustainable Development - includes water issues and climate change
- Emerging Issues
- State Issues
CEDA is a "virtual think-tank". Rather than relying on in-house experts, we work with the best independent experts on any economic development subject. We frequently work in partnership with universities, other non-profits and member organisations. The quality and independence of CEDA’s research program has earned its reputation as Australia’s leading non-partisan think-tank on economic and business issues.
Become involved in CEDA research
- Member organisations contribute to CEDA research by:
- Partnering with CEDA on research work
- Sponsoring research projects and events
- Taking part in CEDA surveys and business best practice studies
- Making tax-deductible contributions to the general research fund.
Feedback from members at conferences, meetings and during leadership programs also helps to shape CEDA’s research program. A proportion of each member's membership fee is devoted to funding CEDA's research.
