CEDA is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr David Byers as the National CEO.
David was born in Brisbane in 1960. He holds degrees in Economics (Queensland University, 1980) and Law (Queensland University of Technology, 1990) and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in 1991.
He has worked in a variety of roles in the fields of industrial relations and human resources for BHP, Evans Deakin Industries and Woodside Petroleum before joining Brisbane law firm Morris Fletcher and Cross. Most recently he worked at Mobil Oil Australia and then ExxonMobil in a variety of roles in Singapore, Dallas and Melbourne. David's most recent role was as General Manager, Human Resources & Public Affairs for ExxonMobil's operations in Australia, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand and Pacific Islands.
The board believes David will further strengthen CEDA's role in shaping emerging economic and social issues.
David Byers will commence with CEDA on March 1, 2007 and until then, Mr Greg Meek will continue as Acting CEO.
The board has also announced Greg Meek's promotion to Deputy CEO of CEDA. He will continue in the role of Executive Director, Queensland and Northern Territory, and will also assume additional responsibility for national membership and sponsorship.
