Position overview

An expert in multi-tasking and managing competing projects, you are an experienced Event Coordinator with excellent verbal and written communication skills who can build relationships with key stakeholders and thrive in a fast-paced environment. 

The role at CEDA offers the ability to learn and grow while delivering high calibre events for Australia’s leading professionals in Sydney and Canberra. The ideal candidate guarantees the smooth running of around 2 lunchtime events per month and must be able to manage competing priorities while simultaneously maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to deliver events on-time and on budget. 

CEDA’s two Event Coordinators in NSW and the ACT deliver a program of 40 public and member events per year to audiences of senior business, industry, community, government and academic leaders. 

CEDA’s Sydney based office is seeking to appoint an experienced and professional Event Coordinator to join its team of committed staff. 

Duties and responsibilties

  • End-to-end Event planning, delivery and onsite event coordination of 20 events per year;
  • Venue, speaker and sponsor management;
  • Preparing and publishing event promotions, including EDMs and website content;
  • Event registrations and bookings;
  • Expense management and working within budgets; and
  • Event close out reporting.

Skills and experience

  • Minimum of 2- 3 years’ relevant event coordination experience in business or a leading Association;
  • Exceptional professionalism and stakeholder management skillls;
  •  Excellent time management skills and great attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated sound financial management and working with budgets;
  • Self-confidence and excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work both independently, part of a positive team in a values based business;
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and EDM tools (IMIS experience an advantage); and
  • Experience in membership organisations would be an advantage but not essential.
